This Privacy Policy explains how Thozhan ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of technicians who use the Thozhan Technician Partner mobile application. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you register and use the app:

• Full name, email address, and phone number
• Home / work address and PIN code
• Profile photograph
• Identity and professional documents (e.g., Aadhaar, certificates)
• Skills and service categories
• Real-time GPS location (while the app is in use)
• Device information and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for notifications

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your technician account
• To verify your identity and professional credentials
• To assign nearby service requests to you
• To display your location to the customer during an active job
• To send push notifications about new appointments and job updates
• To calculate service fees and process payments
• To improve app performance and resolve technical issues

Location Data

The app collects your device location only while the app is open and you are marked as available. Location data is used solely for job assignment and navigation assistance. We do not track your location in the background when the app is closed.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information may be shared only in the following cases:

• With customers — limited to your name, phone number, and live location during an active job
• With Firebase (Google) — for authentication, database, storage, and notifications
• When required by law or to prevent fraud

Data Security

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase with industry-standard encryption. Access is restricted to authorised team members only. We use Firebase App Check to prevent unauthorised access to our backend services.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data including your profile, address, documents, and job history is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app by going to Menu → Delete Account. All your personal data will be permanently removed.

Children's Privacy

This app is intended for professional technicians aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
